Publish and revoke a camera widget

Embed an intentionally public live view while keeping account credentials private.

Review privacy first

Check every part of the frame and audio policy. Apply masks before new acquisition where needed. Anyone with the link can watch without a CamBackup account and can copy or redistribute what they see.

Create the public stream

Open Public streams, select an eligible camera and create the share. Copy the provided embed code; it uses the CamBackup app’s /embed/ route. Never substitute your login token, developer token or camera URL.

Test the host website

Paste the iframe into the host page. Open it signed out of CamBackup and check mobile sizing, playback and fullscreen. A restrictive host Content Security Policy must allow the app.cambackup.com frame. Autoplay behaviour depends on the browser.

Test revocation

Deactivate the share and confirm the direct link and embedded view stop serving. Replace the key when old links should be invalidated. Loss of the required camera plan also pauses public delivery; existing downloaded copies cannot be recalled.

What success looks like

The intended view plays publicly and stops working through the old capability when disabled or replaced.

If it does not work

Check the exact camera subscription, active account/camera/share and source availability. A generic unavailable result deliberately does not reveal private camera details.

Still stuck?

Contact CamBackup support with safe error text, time/timezone and the steps tried. Never send passwords, tokens, OTPs, recovery codes or credential-bearing camera addresses.
